Re: Renault Laguna 2 - Replacing Rear Shock Absorbers

Hi All,

Looks like this thread is a bit old, but I am about to change out the rear shock absorbers in my renault laguna 2002.

One thing has stuck me a bit odd, is that when I took my car in for service, the mechanic wanted me to change a WHOLE lot of stuff. One of them was the rear shock absorbers. He said he can see the shock absorbers were leaking fluid. I said okay, well I think i can change them myself..

Then I started to look for shock absorbers, and it seems that the rear shock absorbers, are GAS Dampers, how in the world could the mechanic see fluid leaking if the they are filled with gas, and not liquid?

Any ideas?
