Supermarket fuels are now the same as stuff you buy in 'proper' garages - BP, Shell etc. The only reason they are so much cheaper is that they but in huge bulk, and drive the price down. (worked for Texaco for a while - glad I'm not now as may have been lynched by now!!).

I've found my mpg has dropped from 48 to 43/44 through the winter, but that is the price we pay for staying warm I suppose.

Always worth checking the usual stuff - tyres etc, and taking out any c*** you might have lurking in the boot, all make a difference on the consumption
