One thing I have noticed with the 1.4 16v engine is that it seems to come alive over 3000rpm
I'm hopeing that slapping a K&N on mine may give it a little extra lower down
(along with a full service and an
I quite like it as an engine as you have to drive the thing to make it shift.
My previous 3 cars have all been 170bhp+
diesels/petrols and you become a lazy driver with all that low down pull on tap.... its been quite nice to learn how to drive properly again over the past few weeks!
Makes for easy driving modes though...
- don't take it over 3000rpm,
bit of fun
- keep it over 300rpm
Edit: As bexGDI points out an exhaust system would help as the engine seems very restricted, but then again your probably looking at £300+ for a few BHP
