Re: Renault Scenic 1 - How To Repair Heater Fan Rheostat*With Pics*
Well I never got the answer but it turned out in the end it was a relay switch that was at fault!
This is attached to the rear of the blower housing, you can access it from the foot well reaching up towards the back.
I bought a replacement for £5 from my local auto shop.
Just to confirm my symptons were the heater started making a clicking noise then started working. Then the clicking would start during operation and the blower would stop.
Eventually it stopped.
Initially after reading up in this forum I thought it was the thermal fuse that had been mentioned, but it turns out I don't have one in my model Scenic.
So a garage ruled out the motor on the blower and the Reostat thing but couldn't identify the fault, they were going to arrange for an electrician to check but he didn't show so after waiting for 2 days I decided to have another go.
I hope this helps someone else.
I think I have the same problem as you however I don't understand where is located the relay switch. you said that is attached to the rear of the blower housing, and we can access it from the foot well, but but but I have to admit it is not clear (English is not my mother tongue) enough and my car skills are limited
Can you try to explain it a second time in a different way ?
