Looks like the car has had a hard bang by the looks of it especially as it takes a lot of force to break wishbones. When these are destroyed there is a risk the sub-frame and or chassis-body may be bent. Plus the handbrake failure may be due to either underbody damage or even rear wheel damage. To judge whether its a write off is hard to tell and only by further detailed inspection and assessment would it be possible to judge. Ultimately it is up to your insurers to make the decision and as the car does not belong to you I doubt you'll have any say in the matter.
