I only seem to be getting about 31MPG on average.
I cannot get it to shift above that.

I donít go over 2k on the revs when driving around town.
The only time it is at constant 2k or over is on the motorway.

It is costing me too much to run the car. At this rate if that is all i am going to get its going to force me to sell up.

I am just wondering if this is correct for the eng / car?

From my experience, the main problem lies in the engine components who are responsible for air-fuel mixing. From my example, when i replace broken MAF -sensor with non-original chinese sensor, the average consumption increase by 1-1,5 liters per 100 km.The trip computer start to show 8,5 liters in town but before was 7,3.Also on highway from 5,3 increase to 6,5 etc.
