Re: Renault Laguna 2 - Replacing Rear Shock Absorbers

Ok, time for a silly question here. Does the rear suspension have springs AND shocks?

Was sitting watching telly this afternoon & heard an almighty crashing sound. Looked out & couldn't see ANYTHING! We have a fair bit of snow here today so I didn't notice anything lying around earlier. Anyway, went out to the car just now & saw a huge spring lying around. Then my heart sink as I noticed the back end of the car sunk to almost ground level. With fading light I couldn't really inspect the car that much. I pulled the top part of the spring out as well and have them sitting here.

I found it odd though that if the shocker went through the spring, the spring would be lying on the ground??? Is the spring mounted separately behind the shocker??
