At the end of the day, there's absolutely no reason for the parts prices to be the same - Renault charge the dealers, and the dealers set their own prices, so it pays to shop around. Same goes for labour rates.
I have a Ducato van, the same basic van is also sold by Peugeot & Citroen - again, the prices are different.
Citroen sell the C1, Peugeot the 107, Toyota the Aygo - all effectively the same car, built at the same factory - but not the same price, that is called marketing, or (in old money) competition.
I'd sooner be able to shop around for a bargain, than feel that the prices were somehow fixed or controlled.
It's not just cars, consumer electronics are the same, to be honest I think most things are the same nowadays, mostly built in the same factory with the same parts and a different badge! hey ho!
