Question Knocking noise when braking in reverse...

Hi all,

There's a knocking sound coming from the front drivers side in my Megane II Tourer.

If I'm reversing into a space, then dab the brakes, something knocks....but it won't do it again unless I go forwards and do it again.

The garage had a look, and told me that it's the front R/H suspension top bearing needs replacing - do you think this could be the source of the noise?

I trust the garage, but have been quoted 140 which seems steep...
And why are these bearings made of plastic who's dumb idea was that lol..

Currently in andyellis111's garage:
