The tweeters normally take their power from the main speaker so they are a the same phase. But if you use a seperate cross-over box, then you can fine tune the cut-off point for the tweeter. Some times the high range sound is too high and you may want to adjust it to suit your car.
If your speakers are rated at ,say 80W RMS, then you need an amp that will give out no more than about 60-70W's RMS.
I know that 70W doesn't sound too much, but if you put good quality sound-deadening matting on the doors, the music will be plenty loud enough for you.
