Re: Any quick cure for sqeaky brakes?
Hi, not sure if you're reading the replies, but copper grease has been cited as NOT to be used.
The shims are there to reduce squeal, as the noise is due to vibrations between the pads and the caliper.
You mention servicing the brakes and putting new pads in there while you're at it. I'm not sure what you are thinking of doing, but other than pads and shims, there isn't anything to service.
Unless you want to strip the caliper down.
If the brakes work, I wouldn't fuss with them. Weather can affect the squealing, so it can come and go.
