To my mind, I can appreciate that CG may well have a corrosive effect, but surely that comes down to how much, and where its applied?
Its like having air in your tyres, the correct quantity is desirable, too much will have a detrimental effect.
Too little will be pointless, so it's an educated guess which is the correct amount I suppose. Like I said though, it never stopped any squealing when I've used it.
It's good for exhaust bolts and wheel bolts, but even then don't use too much.
