This could be down to corrosion/water ingress into the switches. It is a fairly well known problem on earlier Laguna II models. As it has happened after washing the car I am pretty sure this is your problem.
It can usually be fixed quite easily by gaining access to the switch, cleaning the contacts and spraying with wd40 type spray.
If you do a search on the forum there are probably some more detailed instructions on how to do this, as it has been mentioned before.
