Re: Renault Laguna II - Phase 1 - Engines - MPG Check & Survey - V6 Petrol Engine

As a family we have 2 Laguna II's.
A 2003 1.8 16v manual. with 98,000 miles.
And a 2003 3.0 V6 24v Auto with 39,000 miles.

This last week i have been up and down to Blackpool like a Yo Yo on business. From Reading to Blackpool is a tad under 300 miles.
Driving sensibily this week i got 34.2mpg average.

Fri night we had to go whizzing down south for a bit of a family emergency, so after driving the manual all week, i thought we would use the V6 Auto. I drove it quite spirited !, using the Manual overide a few time to play with the engine up to 6000rpm. Sounds lovely, and boy doesnt she go !!.
Anyway, clocked up nearly 300 miles, and got an average of........... 34.1mpg !!.
Almost identical to my 1.8.
To say i was amazed would be an understatement.

I admit around town there is a big difference.
My wife normally gets 18mpg in the V6, where as i get 28mpg in my 1.8

Love the V6 though. Stunning engine, and the auto box is great too.
