What I'll do in those circumstances is exceed the 70mph limit just for the purpose of merging with the traffic flow as its always much easier to trim your speed back (for last-minute adjustments), than it is to increase your speed.

Wasn't having a go as such - but am often bewildered & frustrated by people bimbling down the slip road (which is also known as an Accelerating Lane) at 30 in top gear, then come to a halt...
