I suspect it is the motor, but (apologies if this is a stupid question) how do I test the return path? Do you mean that if there's a short across the motor power inputs it's hosed? I was pretty confident it is the motor until I found that changing the stalk switch doesn't modify the voltage on the connector. When the wiper's off, surely the connector should show 0v-0v-0v?

I'm certainly not interested in repairing the motor. I work very near to you (in Crowthorne): can you recommend any scappys nearby? Or on the web?
