Interior light problem-Laguna Sports Tourer

First of all I have read through the poll item on this subject but I think I have a slightly different problem. When my front passenger gets into the vehicle the light comes on as it should and then went I insert the key card and start the engine the lights go out as they should, however if the key card is in and the engine is running, when the passenger gets in the interior lights stay on and do not go out until the 15 minutes has expired.

I have tried using the WD40 system but this did not work, I have taken it back to the garage where I bought it and they fitted a new unit in the door but that didn't solve it either.

It seems to work ok when I use the car on my own but not when the passenger door is opened.

I also have noticed from some information I downloaded about the car that states that there are two seperate actions when you insert the key card, halway for accessories and full in for starting the car. My vehicle only has one, nothing works until you fully insert the card.

Has anybody any idea how to solve this problem for me?
