Heater motor speed control units are a common fault on a lot of Renaults as are dodgy wiring loom connections. Corrrosion on the connector can also cause a heat build up and plug failure/meltdown!
First question, what position do the connections want to be on for this?
Second, will the fan then run at full speed?
