Try and get 4AWG wire from the Battery to the boot where your amp is with a suitable fuse within 2 feet of the battery.
Then wire the RCA's from your HU to the amp keeping them as far away from bundles of power cables as possible. For example, run the power cable down one side of the car and RCA's down the other.
You'll probably want to connect the amp trigger up too, so you can turn the amp on and off. This doesn't have to be very thick wire, but something that takes 12v. Find a suitable constant live and run it, with a switch in series to the Remote connection on the Amp.
Then to finish it off find a good earthing point as close to the amp as possible.
This way you won't get any alternator whine and the cables won't catch fire!
oops, just noticed there's another couple of pages to read!
