Yep,the Lag 2 is EOBD compliant,the 16 pin connector is under the ashtray.
As for cheap code readers,I really wouldn't bother.Proper diagnostic and code reading equipment is very expensive,so I can't see that a £30 unit bought from
is going to be any good what so ever!
There are systems and leads that can connect your car to a lap top,and you can read the codes that way,but I have no experience of these.
Just one point,you don't have to take your car to a main dealers for diagnostic work,any decent independant garage or Renault specialist can do this at a fraction of the cost.
I'd rather push my Alfa than drive a BMW....
