Our Vel Satis is still running on it's original Xenon headlights at 8 years old! When they fail, it's usually the ballast at fault and not the bulb.
If your automatic headlights are active then I wouldn't bother replacing the sidelights, as the dipped beam always comes with them.
Xenon headlights means the dipped beam is a xenon bulb, whereas Bi-Xenon means both the dipped AND main beam are xenon. Sidelights are always just little halogen things.
