Re: Knocking noise when braking in reverse...

I would be checking drop links and lower ball joint as well, could be a lose caliper, doubtful on pads really, caliper may bang due to the change of direction in rotation, there is a fair bit of force in a rotating disc.
Does it make any noises on full lock. top bearing usuall makes a noise on lock, but you can also get CV noises (humming and clicking) and sometimes lower ball joint noises as well (knocking), does it wander over cats eyes etc another sysmptom of ball joint wear. would also have a feel of your sping just to make sure it has not broken, main place for you in in the upper bearing cup and the lower spring cup on the strut, you wont have a mid break as you give no sysmtoms of more sound when driving, also check the the 3 little top mount strut bolts are tight under the bonnet 10 mm of top of head.
Basically go over all the front end suspension and sub frame make sure it is all tight, and check calipers as well on both sides.
