Jeez oh, that's rotten luck - but at least there's no disputing the liability, and they have held their hands up to it.

I would go down the Renault repair route, and tbh, this kind of damage is going to be very expensive.

It may well be that a new section is needed, as the metal may well have stretched, and the entire side painted to ensure it will match. Metallics can be difficult to match (even on new vehicles).

I would stand my ground (without being rude about it), and insist on a 'proper' repair, and at the very least, either the racking supplied & fitted f.o.c. or a courtesy vehicle to minimise any loss of earnings claim by you.

Its a hard lesson, which I think will be well-learned by them.
