I had a Toyota Celica years ago and one night I was driving from one high level to a slightly lower level, without seeing a eight inch high kerb stone drop between them, BANG !

Result was the kerb stone edge hit the sill with full force and created a deep dent, which was similar to yours, though it was a more localised dent.

What I did was use body filler to bring the shape back to the sill and then paint, job sorted.
