I am dyslexic. A picture would be very useful. If not then not to worry.
I usually place the axle stands under the subframe, but only on a flat section if you understand, or jack under the subrame and place the axle stands where you have been jacking the car up, still using wooden blocks though.
If only working on one side of the cars its more stable & more importantly safe by jacking up & supporting both sides.
