Re: passenger brake facilty

Reminds me of the CitroŽn C-Crosser concept, an MPV with three front seats. (Not the production C-Crosser, which is a completely different car.)
In this concept car, the stereo and steering wheel were interchangeable, thanks to the car being completely drive-by-wire.
Three connectors in the dash, just put the stereo into one and the wheel into another.
Great for going to France on vacation. Just hand the wheel over to the front passenger as you cruise out of the ferry terminal. "We're in France now, luv. Can you do the driving?"
Can't afford a McLaren F1? Just put the wheel in the middle, and tell your passengers to get in the rear seat.

Or just do like the Moroccan driving schools: Fit a second set of pedals and steering wheel, permanently.
If the steering column on the Scenic is divided at the middle, and linked with rope and pulleys, I don't see why notÖ
