I thought they were using these chips to monitor weight, so we're not overloading our bins. I don't disagree with that, as the loading lifts can only take so much weight.

What i don't like the idea of is some scumbag going through my bins to gather ID information. I don't throw anything out with personal information on, but sometimes i do forget i.e. if a catalogue comes in a plastic wrapper - my name and address is clearly printed on it. A few more details and hey-presto someone can apply for a credit card in my name! How about wheelie-bin security?? Alarms, or some kind of locking mechanism??

After all, we are paying for this service - rant over!
