My Scenic brakes are the same. It was suggested there may be some kind of leak, but the fluid doesn't drop. There is no hissing sound from any vacuum pipes either.

At standstill, if you stamp on the brake a few times, does it seem to stick down for a fraction of a second? I was told this was the brake assist coming in. It senses you want to stop urgently and applies more force for slightly longer than a human would normally do in a panic situation.
Not convinced myself, but then again modern cars do seem to have a lot of weird electrickery in them.

I drove another Scenic and they felt similar. As you say, they work fine.
