Re: Selling number plate and getting a new one
OK, cheers, but what makes it easier?
I thought that by selling it straight off, it would be easier as all the hassles and costs are dealt with by the company that buys it.
If the plate is on retention then anyone wanting to buy it can do so straight away you will need a form V317 http://www.direct.gov.uk/prod_consum.../dg_069390.pdf
DVLA will issue you with an age related plate for the vehicle the number is coming of and an MOT certificate and tax disc with the new registration number.
I did with a motorbike about 3 years ago as the number was allegedly worth £800. I had to take the bike to a DVLA test center for an ID check. After a year advertising it with Reg Transfers and no interest I put in on my Scenic!
