Re: Renault Clio 2003 - Engines - Loss of power and Warning Light

Had this very same problem with my 03 clio 1.2. Electronic malfunction light on, then engine check light occasionally. Fault code said it was P0120 which is apparently throttle position sensor or circuit bank A. Then just last week the car refused to start on occasion. Replaced the crankshaft sensor (also called the TDC sensor) which has cured ALL the issues. The crank sensor (or TDC ) is accessed by removing the air box. Then if you look at the side of the engine block, just above where the gearbox is, it is a butterfly shaped item which has a point pointing at the teeth on the gearbox cut out. Held on with 2 10mm bolts which can be removed simply by holding the pipes around it out the way while manipulating the extension for your ratchet. Took me 15 minutes all in, and it was the best 15 I've spent in a long time. Got it on ebay .
