Re: Mileage clocked ARGGGGHHH!!

haha well this is cheering me up a bit.

Anyway i called back after work to give him the opp to do the decent thing b4 i took it further, he said he knew nothing about the mileage and asked me to follow him to police station. I did, they said civil matter blah blah, yes the evidence is there in black and white but we can do nothing... they suggested we both seek legal advice. heres how the mot history looks:
21/09/2006 (87 292) car only registered in Dec 2003 so nearly 30K a year so far wtf?
07/11/2007 (96 286) followed by only 9k this year?????
03/12/2008 (103 889)
18/11/2009 (113 205)
10/04/2010 (73 142) (6 months after above test??? what is the point in this, surely this should have flagged something up somewhere to someone, the system is seriously flawed if not)
01/04/2011 (84 089)
current mileage (87 000).

btw these last 2 MOTs and the service book were all i got when i bought hence me thinking it all added up with no suddent jumps in mileage recorded...

According to the service history book, stamped by renault dealer who sold the car initially the mileages all look legit regarding the current mileage.

09/01/2005 (17 948) next planned 36 k
23/04/2006 (36 101) next planned 54k
24/11/2007 (55 018) next planned 72k
13/12/09 (68 440) this was stamped by "timing belt specialists?"

which one is most likely to be wrong?

the 3 services are stamped by a renault garage which matches the "issuing dealer stamp" in the front of the service book. Also to go from 68 in dec 09 to 73k in april 2010 looks ok, could the MOTs have the wrong info recorded or is that wishful thinking...

thanks for all the replies - I thought id checked everything, but.... You really couldnt tell just by looking, it is very clean in and out, engine runs smoothly and very quiet with loads of power, no smoke at all, if i hadnt checked the mot i would never have known. I would keep the car in exchange for a partial refund, im guessing the mileage is 45 k out making the actual mileage around 130 000 so what do i suggest, 50% back, 30% idk.... There are no faults at all driving it, except the pass window is dead & a "check injection" message appeared randomly today on and off, it is a black dynamique 1.9 dci with multichanger, pan roof etc and i paid £2000.

Currently in bri123's garage:
2003 megane 1.9 dci & 2004 Scenic 1.5 DCi
