Re: Clio Door!!

Hi there.

You will find a combination of plastic pop clips (which are easily broken), and some torx (star-type) bolts holding the panel in place.

There will be torx bolts on the underside of the trim panel, in where the interior latch handle is located, and in the door pull itself. The remainder should be the pop clips.

Procedure - undo all the bolts, then starting at the base, gently, but with increasing steady force, pull the panel - until you hear a pop, then gradually work your way along the base/edges, then lift the panel upwards to unhook it from the glass. Check you haven't left any clips behind, as they will need to be seperated so the door can be reattached later. You will also need to prise out the electric window switch to unhook the multiplug connector.

Are you dealing with the dent yourself? A good tip is to park the car with the dent facing into the sun, as a hot panel is much more pliable than a cold one - also, don't use anything with a pointed tip (I've seen people mutilate their cars with screwdrivers, etc) - the palm of your hand would probably do the job - got a couple out like that before...

P.S. any chance of a picture of the damage?

This job should never be complete - the day I think I've done it all, is the day I resign.
