I can see at least 50% of the cost of repair being covered by Renault.

Unfortunately, complaining to your existing dealer (which isn't the supplying one), isn't really fair/right/proper, as they are as unrelated to the situation's origin, as much as you are.

I would try as far as possible, to keep this dealership on your side, as they can greatly influence the extent of goodwill contributions coming from Renault.

Unfortunately, because there is ambiguity over the 'repair', the Warranty Dept (which have very strict criteria), will probably 'bump' the claim, but that in itself, shouldn't leave you out in the cold. This is where 'goodwill' enters the fray.

Be polite, but forceful, and keep us up to date.
