I must admit,the '
smell' doesn't sound very good.....
There is a post on cleaning the
valve on a 1.9dCi Lag 2 somewhere,so try a search and see if that looks the same.....be warned,though.The valves have a nasty tendency to get stuck in their housing,and they are easily damaged.From memory,their around £150 to buy new,so be prepared!.
I'd hate to be the profit of doom,but if you can smell burning
,then either you have a leak onto the exhaust system somewhere,or you could have the beginnings of the dreaded
