Re: Renault Scenic - Rear Suspension Knock,Shock Absorbers Commonly Snapping

I had this couple of month back on my scenic, but thanks to this forum I knew instantly what was up!
Going over a bump at 50 which kicked the back end up, all hell suddenly broke loose, sounding like someone was flailing a hammer around in the nearside wheelarch.
Got a really good deal at eurocarparts, the cheap dampers were 30 each and the Sachs 51, however without me asking for a discount the guy did me a pair of sachs for 60 :-)
My shock didn't snap at the top however, it still remains intact but feels as though its broke internally, it wobbles around but stays in one piece. The damping seemed fine at the rear too whilst the car was lightly was used for a few days until fixed.
I only had old sockets in 12point but found 15/16" the perfect fit, requiring a wiggle to ease onto the top bolt resulting in a very snug fit indeed.
