If it's the 16 valve engine (K4M), then the torx bit will be required to undo the idler pulley. I can't remember what size it is, but I'd recommend you buy a set of torx bits, because Renault seem to use them rather alot.
Also, on the K4m, don't attempt to change the cambelt without a locking kit and a new crank pulley bolt!
