the 1.8 will average 20mpg in the city and up to 45 on motorway(average on motorway is 34mpg) (depending on speeds, better around 50-60ish than 70+ which will force it back down to 25-30mpg)

it does help if your running on shell v-power or in europe where the quality of the fuel is a lot better than in the UK(ripp-off britan.)

its the same with LPG, in the UK it is awfull mpg, but in germany-poland-eastern europe the quality is much better mix of butane/propane in LPG.

Once you refuel from NL/mastricht and across you instantly notice a big improvement in mpg readings on LPG.
come back, refuel and its instantly in the toilet for decent mpg.....

(god i hate this country sometimes)
