Well Horatio your right, some firm words with the reception staff and a long discussion with an RTE at the dealer and the CD changer has been dispatched to Renault for further examination.

RTE explained (after some pressure) that the reluctance on stereos was down to Renault changing the rules, and now if a unit is returned faulty, tested and no fault found then the dealer has to pick-up the tab for the diagnostics or if he has replace the unit, then the cost of the stereo/changer etc.

I'll post again when I get the CD changer back.
