I have been advised it could be a few things. EGR valves are a common problem on our engines, and I think we are now advised to have these cleaned as they are known to get covered in crap and stick. I have just replaced mine and although it is better I still have the hesitation every now and again.

I have also been advised to check the MAF sensor out.

The best thing to do, which I am going to get done next, is get it plugged into a diagnostic computer and see what error codes if any it is giving.

Hope this helps in some way, let us know how you get on if you find out what it is.

Sorted. The egr valve was cleaned and there was a wire snapped on the pre heater. However the lumber support on the seat has just gone twang and the drivers electric window recently which cost £240. Time to get rid. Will not be buying renault again. Now the cd player is jumping tracks and I am told it needs a new steering rack
