Re: Laguna ii winscreen washer problems

I know of this "gunge"
Its like clear thick slime. On my old car the pump/motor was mounted in a rubber grommet on the washer bottle and just pulled out with a little tugging.
I had to clean the "gunge " off twice in like 12 years .
Dont mix different windscreen washer additives if you can avoid it.
Like if you use clearalex stick to that.
Another thing is if leaving the car in for main dealer servicing they will charge you like 5-10 to "refill" the winscreen washer bottle and put in additive, even if its only half empty.
I tell em not to.
Where I used to live it got quite cold in winter.. some people suggest using washer bottle antifreeze. This is just meths or perhaps isoprpyl alchohol 1part to ten parts water.
It might be beneficial too as windscreen deicer in general very cold winter conditions . I havent used it in a few years as where I live now is the warmest part of the country year round (not dryest).
Currently in coup's garage:
RM III coupe 1.5dci FVT,Audi TT Mk1 ,a bike and too much rubbish.
