if you need to change the outer casing to refit your own

before you remove the unit from the car tilt the
glass down so you have maxim gap at the top
disconect the battery negative earth
take a fish slice metal prefered
slide it down behind the mirror and prise the glass off
its held with plastic clips they will give you may want a tea towel in your other hand to catch
the mirror there are two wires connected to the back of the mirror so take note which way they connect
look inside the unit you will see four identical
catches prise them back and the case will come loose
do the same on the replacement refit the glass it just snaps back then refit the unit with the new case
