Not the scariest but: I worked for a company that had a fleet of ERF EC10s and the throttle stuck open at 56mph on the motorway just as I was joining the M25 at the M40 junction. I managed to get in to Reading before the rush hour started and any problems arose. I had to turn off the ignition at all traffic lights so it didn't rev itself to death!

Then there was the Volvo whose accelerator inverted, so, idle was depressed and full revs were foot-off. That was an artic so imagine how many interesting gear changes I had to do as I went through central London one Saturday morning.

All fun and games....
There's only one answer to the above ......

My hubby's a lorry driver - my hat goes off to all of you - especially when dodgy companies try to make you drive even dodgier lorries.
My hubby literally came to blows with one transport manager when 'his' lorry wasn't fit to go out on the road. If I remember rightly, it was leaking brake lines on that day. .. and that was a very well known construction company (recently too).
