So can anyone recommend any decent tyres?

Sizes are relevant here.
I've always liked Pirelli, and found them progressive, responsive and reasonably durable, but I know they don't suit all cars (eg XR2 do not benefit from P6, but other hot hatches do)
I don't particularly like Michelin, especially since I had many sets on the Clio; generally, I didn't find them progressive, or grippy enough, and was much improved by the change to Pirelli
But your choice may vary; unfortunately, driving styles, car setup, and preferences will move the choice for each person.

2001 Laguna II 1.9 dCi Dynamique, 1993 Clio Williams, (1999 SLK230, now gone), 2007 A4 cabriolet
