Re: Laguna ii winscreen washer problems
The washer pump can work in either direction. The stalk switch selects which way the motor can turn by changing polarity. When it rotates one direction the front washers are supplied and vice versa. The pump has two outlets.
To ensure that both can't be supllied at the same time there are one-way valves built into the pump. It may be the valves are jammed with gunge in your case.
Your diaognosis was spot on.
I tried flushing the pump through with a solultion mixed with warm water, but unfortunatley it did'nt work so the bumper came off.
Like you said, on the bottom of the pump there are two outlet nozzles that can be removed. Once this is removed you can see a small shuttle valve in the back of the unit. I took it apart and washed out the muck, Hey presto job done.
Thankyou very much Madnoel10.
