I couldn't agree more, the council around here are advocating more 20mph limits in residential areas. Even the area I grew up in had speed bumps around schools - fair enough they'll slow down the one or two morons in the chavmobiles who show off "for the birds - innit?".

They've recently posted 20mph signs, regardless of any actual accidents happening. What's more the council is patting itself on the back in the press saying how darn good it is. But because they've allowed tesco to faff about with the road, people are diving into the estate and using it as a rat run, and yes - exceeding the 20mph speed limit, so overall the situation is more hazardous due to stupid planning.

I think councils are made up "interfering busybodies" that want a nanny state, while driving their huge 4x4s at 20mph everywhere, sucking the fun out of driving for everyone
