Re: being taken for a ride?
£11k is about 12500 euro..until the euro goes bye bye..
I live in ireland .
For the past year+ or so renault have been doing "bounceback/scrappage deals.
For market share figures ,probably.
The upshot of all this is for an up to 1 year old used car of the same spec I would have to pay more than a new car price.
With deals and other dealer promos, my new car price equates to a sterling price of about £14000.. with a trade in value of any old pos car of £750
Replacement ins value is approx £20000(for the first year).
Im not complaining,
but there is something wrong with the new/secondhand system..
Before buying I did a cost benefit analysis of up to 3 year old cars in the Uk ,they traditionaly have been much cheaper than Irish prices.
Right now its just not worth buying secondhand renault(megane coupes) either here or in the UK ..for me.(laguna coupes is different but thats another story).
If u buy a second hand car in the UK..or here and see a very similar one a few days later for 2k less thas ts,mho.
for your bother tho, maybe it isnt a 2k diff.Car colour, mileage, being closer to the seller.
Maybe your brothers one has a couple more non standard extras.
Maybe chester motor had a shunt and has been well repaired?
If its used/secondhand.. all u know for sure is its similar.

RM III coupe 1.5dci FVT,Audi TT Mk1 ,a bike and too much rubbish.
