My mate had a problem where his windscreen was "Greasy". He followed my advice (In a previous thread) to de grease it, but nothing worked. So, I bought a bottle of Silicone remover, "Sill Kill", £3.33 from Toolstation. I poured the stuff over the windscreen & wiped it all over, then after 10 mins, washed it off with soapy water. I know silicone spray, (bumper shine, back to black etc), makes a real mess of the windscreen, & can not be removed without a special solvent, so I thought I`d give it a go. I wiped his wiper blades too, removing any silicone from the rubber.
The difference was amazing. Turns out he had been using "Bumper shine" on his mirror covers & obviously the overspray had gone over the screen.
This evening we drove around with wipers & washers going, & got a perfectly clean wipe, no smears, grease, street lights looked as they should, clean & bright, not dull sparklers.
Car dealers use this stuff like its going out of fashion, makes cars look great, unfortunatly, you cant see much at night, when its raining.
