you can take the caliper off and whip round the garage (renault dealerships will probably try to flog you a new caliper, so take it to an independent garage) and they can drill out the busted end and re-tap the hole.

it will probably be a lot cheaper and less hassel than buying a new caliper for such a minor problem.

most garages tend to run into this problem with all makes of cars as the valves are softer than the caliper and they get softer with all the reheating that occurs over the lifetime of the car.

a new valve is only a few quid to buy, they will probably have a spare kicking about anyway.

just clamp the hose with a adjustable wrench/clamp or stuff a cap/clear plastic/rubber hose on the end of the brake hose to stop it weeping out and hang it up in the top of the wheel arch.

quick dirty fix would be to stuff a screw into the end of the remaining valve (self tapping wood screw not recomended as they tend ot be a bit too big)

and no its not recomended at all to even consider driving the car to the garage to do the fix like that, as any pressure on the brakes will most likely blow the screw out of the caliper and cause an accident.
