The other problem with speed cameras isn't the cameras themselves - it is the speed camera detectors and gps systems.
So many people have them these days ( a lot buy them so that they can speed and slow down for the cameras) that people know where the cameras are.
I don't agree with speeding in built up areas full stop. Anybody geting caught in a 30,40 or even 50 zone deserves everything they get.
I cruise at about 75-80 on the motorways ( if it is safe, i.e dry/not too busy, good visibility etc)- you have to to keep up with the traffic flow or risk get tailgated/rear ended etc.
A lot of People don't also know what the speed limits are anyway - the number of people that slow down for the cameras in a 40 zone that do 30 is unbelievable.
