Selwonk 'bumped' your thread so it went to the top of the pile and got an answer.

I'm pretty sure there are no hydraulic dampers on the Scenic Dti's,but I could be wrong....

I suspect that the lower engine mounting is more of a stabilizer bar shaped like a dogs bone.It will only be visable from under the car and will be connected between the front subfarme and the back of the engine.There are rubber bushes in both ends,and I suspect that one,if not both,of them have broken or worn.

I'd rather push my Alfa than drive a BMW....
